Elbicho II

Just as that last imaginary guitar solo from Frank Zappa’s mythical “Joe’s Garage”, with its second album, elbicho embarks us on a journey through inner-space. Parting from where the legendary rock formations of the 70’s left off, “Elbicho II” explores new territory, changing the blues roots for flamenco’s cry, opening a whole new dimension for sounds and feelings to flow. Inspiration comes from the north, south, east and west, but above all, from deep within, where our innermost primitive emotions are conveniently kept out of reach.

Their respect for music as a living art-form under constant metamorphosis lets their songs breathe, and turns each performance into a unique experience guided by improvisation and a relentless search for the flamenco “duende” or soul.

Thanks to this vitalistic way of understanding music, Elbicho is gaining a rapidly increasing legion of die-hard followers, whose word of mouth is worth much more than the traditional marketing strategies we’re accustomed to.
Free of stylistic categorizations and prejudices, they attract a broader audience of all age groups to their concerts, all with one thing in common : the desire to experience an emotional discharge of the type which cleanses and renews the soul. A present offered from the humility and sincerity with which they climb up on stage every time.

Their new album, “Elbicho II” is the logical evolution of a group that started out playing on the streets with no other pretension than to share their music with those who passed by. Their musical debut, produced by the renowned drummer Tino Di Gerlado (Paco de Lucía sextet), offered us songs full of strength and passion, executed in a direct, no-nonsense fashion but in which we could sense an increasing feel for sophistication and search for freedom. In this, their second record, they have assumed the role of co-producers together with J.Luis Garrido “tied to the chair” (Paco de Lucía, Camarón, Triana...).
The resulting album teleports the listener directly to their performances: passion, devotion, sweat and void...
