Biography

Harold was born in a family of musicians in Cuba: he is the nephew of the famous pianist Ernan Lopez Nussa and the son of the drummer Ruy Lopez Nussa.

This 24 years old pianist  profits, like all the members of his family, of a double upbringing, Cuban and French through his grand mother. Harold is now finishing his musical education at the Instituto Superior de Arte after a solid classical basis obtained at the Amadeo Roldan academy of music In Cuba he is the winner of many classical piano contests, presents himself as a soloist in all the theatres of the island . Rapidly Harold opened up to traditional and popular music as well as jazz and started to play with the best musicians of the Island.  And now he focuses on jazz, his true passion.

He is laureate in 2005 of the Montreux Jazz Piano cometition and from there is performing in clubs of La Habana and outside of  the island in famous jazz festivals such as  Montreux, Vienna , Orleans, Verona, Festival de piano in Enghien…

In this album « Sobre el Atelier » he is  playing  his own compositions as well as cuban and amercian standards such as Chucho Valdes or Wayne Shorter. As laureate of the Montreux Jazz Piano Cometition in 2005 , Harold had been offered the recording « Sobre et Atelier ».

The CD piano solo  will be released on 25th October on Harmonia Mundi.
